So Long, Summer...
There are usually a number of things which signify that that Summertime is coming to an end. First, it's the Leaving Cert results (congrats to all those who picked up their brown envelopes last week!), followed by the traffic building up again little by little each morning and finally, the green, blue, red and black uniforms make their annual debut. Although technically, Autumn doesn't begin until September 22nd, we can't help but feel that once the kiddos are back to school it's sayonara Summer!
This month, Clontarf.ie featured news stories on not one, but two Clohiseys. Olympic marathon runner Mick placed 22nd in the 2017 World Atheltic Championships in London, while 18-year-old Jessie is once again making waves with her Sail Against Suicide event which is scheduled for September, 9th. The Journal.ie did a feature on Jessie and her dedication to ridding the stigmas associated with mental health which you can read here.
Many of you may have noticed yellow ribbons tied around a number of trees outside Fairview Park recently. The CRA has issued an update in relation to the proposed Clontarf to Amien Street Cycle Route which includes the proposed felling of these trees which have a long history. More on this can be found here. There is also an opportunity this month, for the public to have their say in relation to bathing waters at the Bull Wall.
Finally, there are a number of fantastic events taking place this month locally, including free events for National Heritage Week as well as new productions at the Viking Theatre! More on these events can be found below.
That's all from us for now!
